Web dev here. The day IE shut down was like Christmas. Before then half the bugs I had to fix were stupid IE issues while the code ran absolutely fine on every other browser. Edge is pretty great, hope MSFT actually keeps up with the standards long term rather than thinking they know better than everyone else.

I am a web designer and developer and I can tell you that we hadn’t given a crap about IE for years before it died in 2022. We’d been developing for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox mainly. But really browser compatibility really hasn’t been much of a problem, not like it was back in the 00s and early 10s. Now you rarely encounter differences. Now it’s about device and screen size compatibility.

What's funny is the SK government filed a antitrust case against Microsoft so a Windows K/KN edition was made which lacked windows media player and windows messenger.

The EU also had the Windows N edition which doesn't have Internet Explorer/Edge and Windows Media Player.

I keep Firefox installer on a drive so I don't have to open IE on a fresh OS. But we Mozilla users are a different breed.
