Today is a sad day for many Australians. This brilliant performer has passed well before his time. Treasure his music.

I listened to your music while pregnant with my baby girl. You and your ethereal voice have a special place in my heart.
Rest in Peace, gentle soul.

This song was played at my husbands funeral with Gurrumuls permission. He was a friend of my son.

I was so fucking lucky to see him live at Blues and Roots festival in Fremantle way back in 2011. Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and Grace Jones were headlining but Gurrumul was EASILY my favourite performer that day. It was his first live show in months because I think he was having health problems leading up. But he absolutely nailed his performance and I remember trying to hide my tears but as I looked around everyone else was doing the same thing. As soon as he finished we all stopped crying and screamed out like crazy! I remember he quite liked that haha so did his band and his guardians.
This is one of my most happiest and valuable memories ever.

I didn't cry for 20 years until my brother died 12 months ago...and right now I am bawling my eyes out. So beautiful.
