Squier Bullet Stratocaster (The Cheapest Squier Strat)

How much Stratocaster do you get for roughly 120 euros/dollars? The Bullet is Squier's most affordable Strat. Is it a good guitar?

This thing is definitely aimed at beginners. But how does it play? Do the frets stick out? And how does it sound? In short, is it something worth taking a look at? That's what we'll find out today.

The gear I most often use.
or a custom Strat with a scalloped fretboard.
For 7 string stuff I mostly use an Ibanez Universe.
A Fender Yngwie Malmsteen overdrive.
For acoustic stuff I use a Taylor 710 short scale thingy.

The issue with the frets being that way, the frets are just unpolished which is why they feel like that, play it for a couple weeks and that dissapears and they’re great

Someone gave me a Squire bullet Strat. I know about guitars. I've been playing since 1966. I set up the intonation, string height. put new strings on. It plays and feels like a Strat costing $700.00. Mine is great and could be played anywhere.

I think these Indonesian made guitars are great guitars all round. Not just for beginners. Also, the unpolished frets are a feature. They add treble to the sound it makes when amplified. Anyway, they go smooth enough after a few weeks of constant playing.

Mine is a hardtail with HSS pick up configuration. I really love it. The tones just amazing for a cheap budget guitar. The neck is comfortable.

I bought a Bullet Strat in pink, did not change a thing, my fave stage guitar, paid 99 dollars.

With a guitar at this price point it's a good idea to change the factory-installed strings, and to polish the frets while you're at it. That should fix the scratchiness. I also think it's a good idea to swap the factory saddles out for roller saddles, which helps tuning stability.

I lucked out big time: I was gifted a green bullet Strat and it was perfect! nice fit, stays in tune, low action, its intonated properly and it sound great! Then months later i bought a Squier mustang for 130 bucks: also perfect! no issues at all! I just lowered the action to my taste, et voila! I did good, but YOUR millage might vary.

In the mid 90s I got my first electric guitar, a black Squire Bullet Series. This one was weird, though, because on the headstock, the "Fender" was the big logo and "by Squire" was in small type off to the side. Then it had "Bullet Series" on the end in the rounded part of the headstock. I think it was made in Korea.

If it was good enough for TheDooo it’s good enough for me.

Love the extremely genuine review. You don’t really see Youtubers wrestling so hard trying to find the correct words lol.

I got a Squier bullet from Indonesia and put in $20 ARTEC overwound alnico pickups that are a P90 design and the guitar is excellent. The old style covered gear tuners were replaced with good Kluson type installed carefully. Hardtail Bullet stays right in tune and sounds great: pounchy and perfect for country music or rock and roll... The guitar was cheap to buy used !

Lot of nit picks for a guitar that costs £110. I’ve got 3 of these and they are great after a good set up and fret polish.

That's as good as anything else I've heard on YouTube today. Nice!

I must have got a Wednesday Bullet. It stays in tune, has no sharp frets, weighs well under 7 pounds and nut is cut very well. I have the hardtail version in Lake Placid Blue. Been playing for 23 years and would consider myself of advanced ability. And I’ve gigged the Bullet many times. I really love it.

I bought my squire sonic gray bullet strat back in 2021 and I still have it when I plug into my Amp and pedal board that guitar sounds like a beast so I don't intend on selling it or getting rid of it anytime soon.

The Squier Bullet Stratocaster sells for $239 plus 13% today ( October 2021) in Ontario Canada. I tried a few low cost Squier strats and found the Bullet model to be lighter and easier to play (nicer neck) than the others, including the Affinity. I bought a beautiful hard-tail white one (HSS) in 2019 ($199 plus 13% tax) and have been very pleased with it. It's got a very slim neck, great action, and a nice humbucker at the bridge that is great for solo work. The body is extra slim and light which I also love and guitars can get to be a heavy load for long performances. Fret fit and polish have not been issues with this guitar. Perhaps a little fret roughness provides better prolonged notes when rubbing for sustain? Anyway...not a problem. :-)

I think it's a very situational thing. My first guitar was a authentic 50s tele which I sold yrs ago when I got out of music. Last yr I bought myself a squier bullet to play at home. Honestly it's one of the best guitars I have ever owned. I had over 20 before o gave up playing 14 yrs ago.
