Younger generations don't remember when energy was cheap or when there were manufacturing jobs.
They simply don't understand the impact their policies have on the country.

As a German, I find the views and perspectives from the USA very valuable. As they say, "sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees." So thank you to you and your colleagues, Nick, for taking the time to share your views on the German party landscape.

As a german conservative I can say you characterized the parties and their voters very accurately. Thanks, I feel honored that you dedicated a whole episode to my country!

As a German, I have to tell you that your analysis of our parties is spot on.

German here- I'd like to point out that the CDU voters probably are conservative- but the party is not. AFD exists or at least grew stronger because there was no real conservative party any more.
Friedrich Merz did all he could to pretend he would bring back conservatism (which I, as others, didn't believe). So he got enough conservative voters on his side, but the day after elections he already took everything back, most importantly the CDU had promised to stop mass immigration and to close the borders and now he won't. Those who voted for him are bummed, those who didn't are angry at the fools who did.

Native German here, been listening to your videos and shorts 😊for a couple of years now. Worked for Americans, so language was never an issue.
Please, please don't stop paying attention to what's going on over here. See my family is native from what was the Amercan zone, my mom was grateful for the delivery of food. Even decades later she spoke about that chocolate☺ Mum grew up without her dad: this man had the audacity to not report neighbours when they said something other than the narrative. Hence lost job at the foundry down the road, had to walk 1.5 hours one way for his new foundry job. Ultimately was put in a no-retuners army. His remains were found shortly after mum had passed - and shortly before that new war started. A hint on the country the remains were found? Well, blue and yellow flag.
As a decendent of two first protestant pastors (yesss 1500s, the churches still exist today) I claim 2. Mose 20, 4-6. Please pray for us. Thank you!

What is happening in the EU with the suppression of political descent worries me a lot. The leftists here will follow their example. Guaranteed.

I am only halfway through the recording, but this is already the best and most knowledgeable discussion of those topics I have ever heard from an American source, and probably also better than 99% of European discussions. As a German, thank you very much! This knowledge and consciuousness of the situation really needs to spread, and fast.

The main issue with cultural importation, is immigration and "melting pots" are based upon everyone assimilaying and contributing to the culture they chose to join. Bringing your culture and making your environment the culture of the place you left, is a perfect logical argument to stay where you came from. You dont get an entry level job and think you get to change the policies and agendas of the company. You get hired and uphold the companies policies and agendas. Same here.

That's actually a better breakdown than the vast majority of commentary here in Germany.

So Germany has gone back to banning opposing political parties again? I think I’ve seen this movie before.
