Can this be an option or mod, I think it would be interesting to see a "cute" game turn into horror genre like a slow burn as the game tries to prevent you from discovering a darker truth.

I hate that this is exactly like those overly cute flash games that little kids play, you certainly hit the nail on the head with the accuracy.

The only thing you achieved with this is made the already fucked up storyline even more fucked up, by adding an implication that kids are also drugged up here beyond belief in addition to being brainwashed, and thus turned the horror into purely thematic one with the removal of horrific imagery!

Like, I can already imagine what happens after "the lesson": we are taken back to our rooms because we succeeded, the crying child is taken to "a fun room" and the one that didn't make it...pardon, that "slep on the lesson" is still locked in.

This concept of turning a horror game cute reminds me of the game "QT", which is a remake of the Silent Hills playable teaser but with more cutesy graphics.

I dont know how but in trying to make this game more “kid friendly” you managed to make it even more terrifying

I just completed Chapters 1-3 this weekend! Absolutely loved the style, so this is super cursed ... although some of my friends might actually be willing to play this "cute" version, since they're chickens. Anyway, great job on the game and thanks for some mini-heart attacks! I'm really looking forward to Chapter 4.

Idea: have this art style be in the intro, and then transition to the original art style after the first scare/story event

i really think it can be consider a genuine accomplishment of game design if your game can retain a sense of dread even after you removed all the scary assets and made them cute. just from the structure, composition and contextualization. that the player can still feel like something is off or wrong even after everything has been converted to be safe and comforting. you know you have made something that's more than a mere collage of scary art. that the horror "aesthetic" isn't carrying the experience but that you've made a cohesive whole.
