Choosing the best line for your ultralight fishing setup can be a bit intimidating because there are so many options on the market! I have talked about ultralight fishing line in the past but decided to take it a step further and start making videos on individual line types. In these videos, I will simply share my personal experiences and opinions on each type. Just to be clear, you ultimately need to make a decision for you and your style of fishing, but I hope these videos will help you make the most informed decision!

Stay tuned for more ultralight line videos!

Thus far, I am super pleased with the J-Braid. I have fished with several braided line varieties and this one is just as good as anything else I have found. As mentioned, I will continue to experiment with other brands but all in all, I don't think you can go wrong here. This line is really low memory, low stretch, high visibility, and high sensitivity. What is not to love? I haven't really had any issues yet but I will let you know if that changes. I have been using the 6lb variety (I have also used other sizes with similar thoughts).

Great video! Oh, and I’m sure you know that’s J-Braid x8 Grand, my goto braid in 6lb. Some of your viewers may not be aware it’s different from regular J-Braid.

Just tried 20 lb J-braid Grand (Gray Light), and so far it's been A-mazing!! Smooth casts, amazing sensitivity, and awesome hook setting!! Will be spooling all my higher end spinning rods with this exact braid and color. I had it straight braid with no leader and caught three large mouth back to back!! They must not see this color. Love it!!

I've stood in the store staring at this line several times. Haven't committed to buying it yet though. Thanks to your review, makes the decision a little easier now. Appreciate the tips and advice.

Respect your opinions Ethan. I will wait to hear your other reviews before purchasing my next braid. ✨

Perfect timing for this review Ethan!! I've been running Daiwa J-braid grand on all my bass rods and really enjoy it. I recently ordered 8lb for my dropshot rod and if that performed well I was going to grab 6lb for my ultralight. Tight lines!!!!

I tried the Daiwa J-8 Grand braid 6lb with a Flourocarbon 4lb leader, and it was every bit as good as you say! Casts so much farther that I had to re-learn. Sensitive ! Only problem is that it’s like tying knots in spider web! Used surgeons knot.

I have been a fan of J Braid since I used 50lbs on my frog rod. Then 30, then 20 and 10. Love the stuff. For whatever reason, J braid seems to do the best on BFS reels of all of the brands I've been trying as well.

Have not tried j braid yet but have switched to braid on my light spinning setups and enjoy using them a lot more. Great videos !

I tried this J-Braid Grand plus leader and I was blown away by the excellent cast-ability! I had to re-learn how to cast, to keep from always landing way past my target. BUT I fish in shallow waters with rocky bottom and I quickly learned that this braid is very susceptible to abrasion! I lost leaders 3 times. Now I am searching for a more abrasion resistant braid. Will try Berkley FireLine next

i love the JBraid x8. Found it at a great price in the spring and stocked up on various L/UL from 8#/2#test up to 40#/10#test. Currently have the 10#/3# test w/ 4# Floro leader on my Daiwa Procyon 2k and FTO UL set up. I typically used Sufix 832 but found that the Jx8 is better at casting UL. Fantastic combination. Casts 1/64th & 1/80th like a dream! Pickd up the TFO after watching your reviews BTW and I love it!

🎣 warmer weather, warmer water temperatures and that means
Largemouth and smallmouth bass are going to be hitting soon, it's time to restock up on some bass stuff too.
Like black, silver and gray hair or feather jigs, Berkley powerbait ripple shad, Uncle Buck's hellgrammite pre-rigged jigs and a few vmc pro series crayfish jigs as well.
Also great video, great fish catching and great kayak too that you have there.

J braid x8 Grand for me everytime. Love the stuff. Casts farther than anything else I've used on my ULs.

I loaded Daiwa J-Braid 8 Grand on my Crappie rod & reel and LOVE it. It’s like fishing with a super strong strand of silk. My only complaint is that I bought the Gray Light color and my 52 year old eyes struggle mightily to see it when it’s in the water. I currently have four brands of braided line loaded on 9 spinning reels and 1 bait caster. I have Daiwa J-Braid rated slightly ahead of Power Pro Super 8 Slick V2 and a little farther ahead of Sufix 832 & P-Line XTCB.

I ended up buying the Sufix Nanobraid in 4lb linked to 4lb fluorocarbon. Casts those 1/32 mule jigs far!

I have it on my lews laser light and it’s awesome. I use 4lb vanish for a leader you should see the giant bass I caught on that set up. I can’t believe everything held together but I’m very happy with this braid

I just went out and fished with J Braid for the first time and I am really impressed with the line especially for the price.

Great video I have now added that to my shopping cart to order at Tackle Warehouse

I’ve used the 4 strand J-braid and bought the 8 mostly because of the hi-vis option. Moss green is often tough for me to see, so definitely also recommend hi-vis to a leader.

I like these types of videos, I don't have a ton of experience with all these different lines.
