Every existing installment of the Undertale “franchise” has released 3 years apart from each other. Assuming consistency, chapter 3 will release sometime this year.

We in the Silksong community have been waiting for the game since 2018 while Team Cherry has been radio silent since December 2019. At least you are getting progress updates while we would be happy if Team Cherry just breathed.

I am a bit worried about the ending of these chapters as if toby wanted chapter 5 to be apart of the bundle then he had a specific cliffhanger for the end of chapter 5 but now that chapter 5 isnt apart no more this means toby will have to cut the storyline short for this section as we will need a cliffhanger for chapter 4

Some speculation about chapter 3 suggests that it actually WON'T fully take place in the TV, notably because of how certain details in the green room seem to reflect important details related to other places in the house, such as the old, weathered blue couch on the right representing Kris' side of the bedroom, with the pristine green couch on the left representing Asriel's. However, I think this is just as likely evidence that the dark worlds reflect the will of the lightner who creates its fountain (as suggested by previous discussions about the fountains and the process of opening them), revealing that Kris is aware of and likely holds disdain toward Asriel or perhaps even Toriel for the way they are clearly the less favorable child.

Chapter 3 will have a LOT to say about Kris as a character if this is the case, and may even help reveal more about whoever opened the OTHER fountains (assuming it wasn't Kris, but also gives valuable information even if it was), as we may come to understand the motives, or rather the will utilized to create it.

Previous fountains seem as if they're designed with helping certain characters in particular- the first one for Susie, helping her to open up, make friends, and show that she isn't just the monster she was perceived as. The second seemingly for a combination of Noelle and Berdly, though I think Berdly was just a convenient coincidence. Noelle learned how to become stronger, and to stand up to a controlling motherly figure, and Berdly learned to not be so full of himself with a mightier than thou personality.

Given this pattern, the third fountain will likely be with regards to the relationship between Toriel and Kris, helping to correct the obvious family favoritism. And, if this pattern is to continue, each dark world will serve a specific purpose in developing certain townsfolk' characters, and those characters are likely the specific ones from Kris' own life. Taking that into account, Asgore's flower shop is an obvious candidate moreso than even others, but the rest are not so clear based on info we have now.

Other characters don't seem to have as relevant backstory with Kris as the ones we can expect based on this pattern, so unless somebody ELSE creates a fountain (like Noelle), then I think the final chapter will involve creating a fountain designed specifically for Asriel when he arrives in town. A fountain located in the bunker south of town, to finally reveal the events before the game starts with Kris, Asriel, Noelle, and Dess. The events that lead to her disappearance.

I don’t think the Green Room means chapter 3’s dark world will be just the tv, I just think the TV is definitely the focal point because it’s the main thing in a living room, like we could have something to do with Chariel maybe but idk, also my personal belief is that the green room appears later in the chapter (not the beginning) because it uses the Hip Shop motif, which Color cafe, the end of chapter shop of chapter 2, also uses

I can see two things happening in terms of characters. Either for each chapter the main three are joined by different lighteners that also have there face in their text box (example: jockington) or Noelle and Berdly will remain in the spot light, showing up in the other dark worlds

I don't really mind what ends up happening~ The doggo and team have already proven themselves to be good storywriters. I fully trust that this game will be good regardless of how they go about it. <3

This is probably not likely considering some of the theming, but I wonder if Chapter 3 could potentially be an intense horror-themed world, or at least a few sectors of it? We haven't seen a lot of screenshots for Chapter 3 because if we saw something it'd be a huge spoiler for the overall theme of the chapter. The first dark fountain taught Susie a lesson, that people liked her. The second dark fountain taught Noelle a lesson, to stand up for herself. This dark fountain is probably different, being off-track narratively, as well as being a chapter focused on weird gameplay elements. I could totally see Seam's comment about 'not wanting to get caught when the sun goes down' applying to a dark fountain created by Kris.

To me, Green room sounds like a mix of hip shop (as you mentioned) and also It's raining somewhere else, which I find interesting
