Shinehead is brilliant, and you can tell by this interview...an intellect. Lyrically gifted. His accolades are much, and he doesn't brag about them. He needs to do more shows in Jamaica to introduce more people to his talent.

Shinehead is truly humble. I saw Shinehead on Bronxwood Avenue (Bronx) by a restaurant around 1990 when he was highly popular. He was sitting on the curb talking holding a reasoning. No entourage, no bodyguard. Just Shines. I was amazed how approachable he was. One of the reasons I love reggae and dancehall is how humble so many of our artists are. Next, Shinehead paved the way for Shaggy and so many others to be taken seriously by the music industry as Jamaican artists who sound Jamaican but want to be heard on R&B and hip hop stations. Shinehead gets love from Jr Gong and KRS 1 because they are true to the game and know Shines is a big part of their foundation. Last, Strive is my favourite of the many loved Shinehead tunes. I saw an amazing video of Shinehead performing Strive at a huge concert in the 80s (I thought it was Sunsplsh). He started singing but the crowd did not know where he was. By the time the camera found him he had come down from I think a video tower into the crowd. Of course the crowd went wild and rush him. He could be heard telling security that he is OK as he continued to sing and weave his way to the stage. By the time he got to the stage the crowd was fully in his control. It was the most amazing display I have seen of how much love and trust were shared been a Jamaican artist and the fans. Respec, Love and Honor Shinehead. Bless!

Shinehead is a genuine yute. In the 80's, when Shinehead was on the rise, I saw him playing with kids on the streets of Horizon Park over in Spanish Town. I always thought he was from Spain.

Thank u Teach. One of the Artiste I really wanted to see on your Platform but I didn't request him. However I extremely happy you found the Magnificent Mr Shine aka Shinehead. Shinehead is one of Jamaica's most Talented and Versatile Artiste as Singer, Rapper and Dancehall DJ. He has done a great deal for the Culture with NO recognition with one the biggest songs of all time. I was at a Primary School in Clarendon a couple months ago they announcing the Monitors, Class Leaders and Prefects and STRIVE was the Song that played throughout the Entire ceremony on heavy rotation. Big Song.
