Sirenhead in my opinion IS seriously creepy because he (?) pretty perfectly embodies the concept of not even so much the supernatural but the unnatural.

Godzilla and King Kong are ultimately just big, powerful animals (or plants, in one iteration of Godzilla), they fit into known categories.

Even aliens are (usually) just recognizable people (or animals) from elsewhere.

You can Imagine them arosing from the somewhat familiar basic processes that produced ourselves and life on earth.

Even the conventional supernatural is something that tends to intuitively make sense to us, the unnatural doesn't.

It's really that which we feel SHOULDN'T be.
