Helpfull. Liked the idea of a 2nd pass using only water. Kinda like a rinse cycle. That water was almost as dirty as the initial pass. I used Shout, a laundry spot pre-treatment on my carpet's stains, let it soak about 15 minutes and then ran the Rug Doctor. Carpets came out really well, but still damp about 10 hours later. I guess it'll take at least 24 hours to dry to the touch.

I case nobody else has mentioned it. Do not run your soapy solution in the machine. Prespary your cleaner from a separate bottle. Use the machine only to rinse the cleaner out. With this method you allow the chemical to dwell, agitate if needed then don't have to run the machine twice so you can start drying it sooner.

You need ear protection for a carpet shampooer? Geez, that one must be super loud then. I used a Bissell Big Green and it was not loud or unpleasant at all.

NEVER USE BOILING WATER IN YOUR MACHINE. The video was great but that is a great way to ruin it.
