Best Online Guitar Lessons Reviews - JamPlay in Detail

The Best Online Guitar Lessons looks at JamPlay and gives a detailed and honest review.
I take a deep behind-the-scenes look at the online guitar training courses offered at JamPlay. It has tons and tons of material and every almost every imaginable genre included. While this is good, it can be a little overwhelming for someone just beginning on guitar.
The course is divided into “phases”. Phase 1 is catered to the beginner player and is structured with lessons and instructors for both electric and acoustic. I highly suggest picking one instructor that you favor (there are a bunch and they are all great) and stick with them. Go through their course in its entirety. The videos are very well made and showcase the lesson from different angles so you can easily see hand positions and picking techniques. Each lesson includes tabs and resources.
Phase 2 dives into the various genres. These are great for intermediate and advanced guitarists looking to expand their skills. From Blues to Jazz and everything in between, there is enough material here to last a lifetime! Theory, music reading, and mind-blowing hacks are also in this phase.
Phase 3 is the Songs section. This is one of my favorite parts of JamPlay. Actually learning songs is both rewarding and really helps speed up the learning process. Let’s face it, practicing is no fun if you are just plunking away with no purpose other than the practice itself. The selection of songs is not bad either and offers lessons in different genres and skill levels.
Phase 4 is Song Writing. Learn tips and tricks to increase your productivity and the basics of songwriting. These skills will go a long way from song development to playing in bands.
Also included are resources (backing tracks for jamming and practicing…awesome!!), an active and helpful community, live sessions with direct participation, and just so many other tools that are too long to list.
If this all isn’t enough for you, it also has a bass section. Expand your horizons and learn bass too. It will only help you as a guitarist (I know this from experience).
The biggest caveat is the amount of material that can almost be distracting, but if you commit yourself to sticking with one thing at a time, it is one of the best online courses you’ll find for the money.
