It's not a laughing matter. Hyundai Motor researchers developed the sound effect to give the impression of internal combustion engines that are not present in electric cars, adding to the driver's fun. You will see the difference if you ride an electric car without noise.

Ioniq 5 owner here, I sat in an N and thought it was very cool. But this feature is trash, it sounds like a Roblox car game and the tachometer is completely irrelevant. As long as it can be turned off I may still get an N.

You gotta admit, a 90s arcade game sound effects in a real car is bonkers. Pretty sure you would have a lot of fun hooning around in it. Put on for the music. Epic.
