Anya is more of an observational learner, she understands things when applying them to a situation. Meaning she would learn more from an educational tv program then a teacher's lecture.

The fact that Loid started reading the manga so he could find a way to help Anya learn brings me joy

Remember, Anya lied about her age to get Loid to adopt her. If she was younger than 6, she couldn't apply to Eden College, so she said she was 6 when she's likely 4. She may be struggling to understand her schoolwork, but she's 2 years younger than anyone else in her grade.

Funny thing is that Anime and cartoons can motivate people to do things that they even dislike(studying or eating foods they would dislike).
Rock lee from Naruto series got me into working out too.

Learning in the context of a story is way more effective than learning in an isolated context.

small gripe:
the joke originally has her saying "Remaining ammunition: two-eighths"
the fact that she knows these words but not proper sentence structure is kind of the point

I mean, 90s kids learned a lot from cartoons, both educational ones and regular.

Mostly because the shows didn't talk down to kids when teaching them, unlike today's shows, where they make it sound like they think all kids are stupid and need everything spelled out slowly and loudly to them all the time

True very true. Dr Stone taught me a lot about science and the fact that I can remember a lot of it says a lot.

That shit never sank in when I was in school

Huh. Didn't know that Anya was a Observation Learner when she watched a Anime Show just now. Even I'm impressed by her

Look at Anya solving a math problem from just watching a cartoon

Isn't two eighths a quarter? Not trying to dismiss her or anything but Anya is on the path to know that. Way to go.

I’ve got a gun with three bullets. I point the gun upwards and fire it a handful of times. Now I have zero eighths bullets, and three holes in my ceiling.
Nice.

Similar experience, I passed American Revolution part of History class in school with a A+, my teacher asked my how got everything right when I failed or had difficulty in other parts of the class. My answer was "I played Assassin's Creed 3 and most of the stuff from the test was in it". I then had to explain Assassin's Creed to someone that didn't play video games due to how historically accurate it was, it peaked their curiousity

Animes & cartoons teach us different types of lessons as well as learning new languages 😁

Honestly this is very relatable. I learned a lot about fractions and decimals from cartoons as well. Of course cartoons in the west were way better in the 2000s.

Bondman got Anya into fractions and Goku got me into working out.

Score 1 for anime lol

Kid's programs CAN help encourage kids to learn more. Hell, Yu-Gi-Oh! helped me figure out basic math when i was 7.
