I started the oscp course in september 2019. I wanted to only practice using techniques allowed during exam but doing so found myself stuck. I watched a few ippsec videos and noticed that there are ways of getting on a host besides sending remote exploits to target hosts but am really confused when it comes to gaining that initial access to a system using a remote exploit outside of metasploit. In exploit-db there are exploits under the 'remote' category written in c, ruby, python, c++, etc and along my journey of research I found that all of these exploits actually need to be adjusted manually using new shellcode, etc etc. I feel like being able to use these 'remote' explouts is going to be a crucial part of understanding for this cert but I dont know how to edit the public exploit code correctly. Does VHL go over this sort of stuff or have you found any extensive resources that do?
