Makes me feel better that it took Mark all 6 guesses. I was left with the possibility of caddy, baddy, and daddy with 2 guesses left and I guessed wrong both times.

Thought the same: 'Can't be daddy.' So only on the fourth. Didn't think of laddy as that's usually spelt laddie.

We thought of very similar words!! SPARE -> TONAL -> MAGIC -> BAWDY -> DADDY (I also knew magic had already been played but was blanking on anything else to put in... and I wasn't even under a time limit 😅)
