Nowadays most universities teach about sustainability, function of design, revitalization, and the practice of architecture rather than the architecture itself; how to build good buildings and how to create a good presentation / image of the project itself. It's all about selling the projects and winning competitions because that's what the market has driven the practice to.

I hope im not wrong but. Architects are supposed to design buildings and not design the function of them. Thats what the engineers do. Architects are the ones supposed to design how a building looks like so they must make them appealing. Otherwise you can just copy and paste gray boxes in cities because its more functional and you dont need architects anymore. Beautiful buildings make people happier.

The problem here, is the basic fundamental of architecture isnt classical columns.
Although it is history, yes, but it is totally not the fundamental knowledge to build a project.
You may know more than them about classical columns, but when they talk about anything other than classical architecture, your brain will malfunction like Windows 7
