I don't own anything, all rights goes to The Carpenters and Gerard Way.

Lyrics:
Long ago, and oh, so far away
I fell in love with you before the second show
Your guitar, it sounds so sweet and clear
But you're not really here, it's just the radio

Don't you remember, you told me you loved me baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh baby
I love you, I really do

Loneliness is such a sad affair
And I can hardly wait to be with you again
What to say to make you come again?
Come back to me again and play your sad guitar

Don't you remember, you told me you loved me baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh baby
I love you, I really do

The original is iconic but his voice makes it so romantic

I love when he sings "I love you, I really do" and then he whispers it. Ugh, my god.

I love how we have so many comments how this was butchered. this was not in a recording studio. it was a casual warm up song. I love how raw it is and imperfect it is. Gerard is a very talented musician. #mcrfanforever

I don't really understand people thinking this sounds bad. Especially for Gerard's more punky voice is sounds really nice, like he put effort into it.

I actually really, really like this. There's emotion and character here. Is it pitch-perfect? No, and honestly, that's okay. I've heard so many versions of this song where the singers are so obviously trying to be technically perfect that they miss the emotion and story behind the lyrics. There's a "cry" in his voice that suits the song, and although it was apparently just a throw-away warm-up track, I think it works well as a cover.

This song helped him warm up before recording the vocals for Cancer. 😭

I was playing this song on a louder speaker in my kitchen doing dishes when I looked over at my dad and noticed he was crying I asked what was wrong and he said this was his grandmothers favourite song and when she passed he listened to it all the time he also thought gee’s voice is beautiful and he covered this song magnificently

as a singer with anxiety i still have a tendency to put all of my focus into hitting the exact notes, so no one can laugh at me for messing up. gerard way is my biggest musical inspiration. he's an incredible singer and delivers amazing live performances that aren't pitch-perfect. the way he effortlessly puts so much emotion into each line (which is the weird thing that makes you hang onto every word he sings, i think) made me realise that the vibe you're giving off as a musician is more important than never being slightly off-key.

this just shows Gerard's range and how many 50s/60s/70s songs that he can sing. whoever said he couldn't sing this should hear "my way" he is a gem to us and it shouldd be appreciated

There’s just– how do I explain this? There’s just so much passion, emotion and love in his voice in here. You can tell he really loves Lindsey, damn. Someone get me my own Gerard Way. ;–;

I like the raspiness. It adds a natural sounding masculinity that goes with the ballad. It’s got a real Liverpool vibe. Love it.
