How to convert a PNG image to a vector file with Inkscape

Zooming in makes the object appear larger on the screen, zooming out makes the object appear smaller on the screen. Otherwise, thanks for the tutorial.

I have a png file, I followed the steps, bit map etc. but it does do the conversion to vector.

You say 'zooming out' when you are 'zooming in'. FYI
