How to Convert JPG To PNG Image With A Transparent Background

In this video I will show you how to convert a JPG/JPEG (.JPG) image into a PNG (.PNG) image file format with a transparent background using a free online conversion tool

Steps To Convert JPG To PNG Image With A Transparent Background
1. Locate the JPG image(s) on your device that you would like to convert into a PNG image with a transparent background.
3. Left click on the “Choose Files” button in blue to select your JPG image(s) from your device. Once done, the file explorer window will open, locate your image(s) for conversion and left click on Open to select. You also have the option to drag and drop your JPG image(s) from your device.
4. Before converting to PNG, left click on the nut icon which when hovered over, will say "Advanced Options (optional)"
5. Once done, the Image Options window will open. Here, you can select and customize your Image Options.

Note: Select "Yes" in the "Choose a color to make transparent?" section to ensure that your converted JPG Images background will be removed and converted into a transparent PNG image background.

Image Options include:

- Resize Output Image
Choose a method if you want to resize the output image.

- Compression Level
Choose a compression method to reduce output PNG file size. Lossy method reduce PNG size at the expense of image quality

- Image Quality
Lower values give better compression (at the cost of image quality)

- Choose a color to make transparent?
Use this option make transparent background in your PNG output.

- Choose a color to make transparent
Use this option to select a background color to make transparent from the color pallet. By default your images background color will already be preselected. If this is not correct you can change it by selecting a best match from the color pallet picker

- Match similar colors (%)
0% makes only the selected color transparent. Use higher values to make more similar colors transparent.

Image Options used to covert to PNG and remove the background (make transparent) are as follows:
- Resize Output Image = Keep original size
- Compression Level = Lossy compression
- Image Quality = 100
- Choose a color to make transparent? = Yes
- Choose a color to make transparent = #FFFFFF (white background only)
- Match similar colors (%) = 5

6. Once you have customized the various Image Options , left click on either "Apply All Filters" (for all images) or "Apply Settings" for a single selected image.
7.You will then be taken to the Conversion Results page where you will be able to see your converted file(s). If the conversion was successfully a "Done" status will be displayed corresponding to the images title for conversion.
8. To the far right of that converted PNG, you will have the ability to download your new PNG image file(s). Left click on DOWNLOAD PNG.
9. The file explorer window will open prompting you to select a destination, file name and save as type of which you should maintain as "PNG image" file type. Once done left click on save to download your converted PNG image file(s) with a transparent background.

Is it possible to make the background transparent but not the matching colour inside the picture ?
My background is white but there also white within my picture therefore it goes grey
If you see my icon to left, any help would be greatly apricated hoping to use it as watermark

I did exactly as you show in the video. But, when I went to check the png file, it only made a transparent background right around the image, not the whole background converted to transparent. What am I doing wrong?
