The world is increasingly data-driven. To thrive in this world, students need a new level of data literacy—the ability to solve problems and support arguments using data. Zoom In! Learning Science with Data (ZiSci) is creating a suite of blended curriculum modules that build high school students’ skills in using authentic data sets as they explore core topics in biology and Earth science. In this webinar, Erin Bardar will introduce the ZiSci platform, walk through the Earth science lesson, Exoplanets: Where will we find the next Earth?, and engage participants in discussion around data literacy and the use of authentic, professionally-collected data in the classroom.

Erin Bardar is a Senior Curriculum/Instructional Design Associate with EDC’s Oceans of Data Institute (ODI). She specializes in curriculum development, teacher professional development, and science education research, with a focus on the fields of Earth science, astronomy, and data literacy.

I am faking going to college right now (I just cant do it, i'm not mature enough yet). Just hangin out in my room and lets just say communing with trees, then my mom barges in demanding to see proof that I'm in class. Oh no I thought to myself, but as quick as lightning I shuffle to my feet and jaunt to my computer and type in "zoom class science" into google. 2nd vid that popped up and I'm in the clear so liked and subscribed!
