This song will always bring a tear to my eye. My dad used to have this old banger of a car, a Nissan cherry, the thing stunk of petrol and if it crashed, well, you were the crumple zone. It used to collect moss on the outside like nothing id ever seen since, like a green go faster line that gradual spread over time, my mum used to joke that the moss held it together. But... it had a tape deck, and one of the tracks he played on repeat was this. As a grown adult every-time i hear this song, i am instantly transferred back, to my 6 year old self, no care in the world, no understanding of how anything worked or how life had to happen, just a kid, enjoying the ride in his dads car, with no idea where he was going, feeling truly free. The title of this song is so correct, it really does set you free.
