Breeze Airways has quickly expanded its network since launching operations in 2021. When the airline launched its first destination in Illinois last year, I knew it was a great way to cross off an airport I had never previously flown from. Today, we're onboard Breeze from the capital city of Springfield down to Tampa flying in Ascent, the carrier's version of First Class. It was an awesome experience and I hope you enjoy the video!

They probably lowered the landing gear early because they were given a very slow speed restriction from Air Traffic Control. For example, the other day I was given a “slow as possible” speed restriction from approach into RDM. We were fully configured around 12, 000’. Lowering the gear is one of the best ways to slow your plane down quickly.

Great bud as always. What about Quincy? Southern airways flies out of there and the gear was probably lowered to reduce speed and increase drag

Thank you for sharing your trip here. I am glad you had a good experience here flying in the A220. I take it the snack/meal service could be with a breakfast wrap and sandwiches for the afternoon at least?😊 Furthermore, I heard that landing was a little hard there in Tampa!😊

Great video. I flew breeze ascent from SPI to MCO on august 3 and other than a 4 hour delay I really enjoyed it. Luckily breeze was really good about communication with the delay and wasn’t stuck in the airport all day. Because of the delay Breeze gave us $50 vouchers for a future flight which was very nice. I enjoyed breeze way more than Allegiant from BMI or PIA to SFB.

Wish more people knew about the service. Whenever I told people about our flight they all commented that they had never heard of Breeze.

I have flown Breeze (MX) 11 times, mainly to/from CAK. All but two were in Ascent seat (the other two were CAK-PBI with E195 planes & Nicer seat best available on those). Great service on all of them. You should be able to go 4 to 5 hours without a meal. Used MX between CMH- SNA and CAK-LAX. The flight CMH-SNA was only $302.00 upfront one way. The CAK-LAX flight was $356.00 & my UA return flight LAX-CLE was $856.00 (CLE is only 40 miles from CAK). I use UA a lot in First but that's a big difference in fares for a meal. On MX, they come around several times in Ascent for drinks/snacks on the longer flights. If hunger is an issue, they have snack boxes you can purchase. I've never flown in the Nice cabin but know people who have & they said their seats are more comfortable than G4 or F9 flights.

Great video! The brakes might have been hot. That might explain why the gear was down so early, airflow might help to cool hem down.

Springfield used to have frequent service from the now-closed Meigs Field (CGX) in Chicago.

I loved today’s video! I read a long time ago that Breeze was starting service from Springfield, Illinois to Florida, and I was super excited. I’m from northern Illinois and have O’Hare and Midway right nearby so I’ve never found an excuse to go down to Springfield and fly to Florida from there, but I’m really excited to one day! Oh, on a kind of related note, do you have any United Boeing 737 MAX 9 videos you can point me to, old or new? I’ve flown on their beautiful Boeing 737 MAX 8 before, at least two or three times, but I’m flying their MAX 9 for the first time next month from ORD-RDU.

Sometimes teams will charter a big plane for the team itself and a slightly smaller plane for team staff, press, families etc. But not every team does this. With it being pre-season i can see some spill over with extra scouts and players on board.

VPS is my hometown airport, really wish other carriers like Breeze or JetBlue would service it, currently Allegiant is the only LCC/ULCC serving the airport, and they absolutely suck. I also wish there was more focus on other parts of the state as well as the wider southeast. Currently, VPS does not have any nonstop services to any other airports in Florida. Pensacola has intrastate flights offered by Spirit and Silver, but VPS doesn't have any. Allegiant is clearly focused solely on bringing vacationers into my hometown and doesn't really attempt to serve the local community at all. As someone who has had to move around for work, previously working in Orlando, having an option to fly home nonstop from MCO, or SFB with Allegiant would have been really convenient, unfortunately, no such service to VPS exists. I know this comment is kinda ranty, but anytime someone brings up leisure travel between midwestern states and Florida, I am reminded of the frustration of being stuck somewhere else in the same state with no economic way to go home to my family. Just to make a point of how big FL is, Orlando is an 8-hour drive from my hometown.

After watching this video, I wondered not only how many airports there were in Indiana, but if they could be reached by passenger serivice all in one day. I thought there would be 5, (Gary/Chicago GYY, Indianapolis IND, South Bend, Ft. Wayne, and Evansville.) But GYY no longer has passenger service, although it does have charters. Also there is no way to fly from one Indiana airport to another without a connection in O'Hare, Detroit (DFW), or Atlanta, so in one day wouldn't work, either.

Might have been overweight for landing so needed to burn off extra weight. Extending the gear early would cause more drag and thus burn more fuel. Or perhaps needed an expedited decent or slight mechanical issue with the gear. I’d say the first is the most likely

I keep hoping Breeze will announce flights into MCI, but I don't think it's happening anytime soon. The cleanliness issues you pointed out are unacceptable. I know that they aren't going back to the COVID-era steam cleaning and sanitizing anytime soon with staffing costs being what they are, but there shouldn't be weeks' or months' worth of crumbs and dirt lining the storage pockets.
