In this episode, I’m excited to share my interview with Shamus Hayes of RideShare Carz. I think RideShare Carz is very innovative in the fleet owner space, and it’s interesting to see a behind-the-scenes look of how it all works. Shames himself actually gave 4000 rides, too, to understand the driver experience! We’ll talk about the driver experience, types of vehicles that are most popular, and who RideShare Carz is good for.

$ 500 a week way expensive, you can buy a very nice toyota with $ 2000 a month and maintenance is not ever going to be $ 1000 a month for sure .

2K a month is a pass if you can’t figure out how to keep you cost down Uber isn’t for you. I only recommend renting if you have no car

In my opinion the Key to owning in ride share is owning a car dedicated to ride share separate from your personal car. Renting is simply paying for convenience. The renter would not make money if the math were in your favor. Smart thing is to partner with another driver and rent your car out to drive opposite times you drive. I'm a day driver . Renting my uber car to a PM driver I can make money while I sleep.

I'm just 2 weeks into this new "career". From what I've seen, if you're looking to do full time plus, the rental program is probably the way to go. It seems very likely that I could put 100k+ miles annually on a vehicle. For part time rideshare, people with a personal vehicle option are probably better off not using the rental. My Uber comfort level rental I have now is $420/week with the Avis insurance added.

Lol let me do the math. If you pay $70 a day for a Kia that’s 2100 a month. If you buy a Kia and pay 500 a month your insurance will likely be about 200 in Texas and your maintenance will be no more than 200 a month as well on the extremely high side and that’s if you don’t have any sort of new maintenance package or any warranties on anything. That’s $900 a month compared to $2100 a month and this guy claims that the rental option is better because of the time savings.

And we are not even mentioning the fact that getting a brand new car to do Uber is incontrovertibly a dumb decision.

But using this guys logic, and assuming a high estimate of $25 an hour for an Uber driver on average, apparently getting a rental saves you more than 48 hours a month of your time. If that’s not the biggest load of BS.

Like just come out and say that you take advantage of credit challenged people who can’t even go to a buy here pay here dealership to get a car. Just be honest and say you are capitalizing on peoples economic disadvantage in the typical trickle up fashion.

And LOL @ ‘what happens if they need brakes and rotors that’s 400 in pocket money to come up with!’ *Pulls $2100 dollars out of his pocket to pay for it* Bro you should change the name of your company to ‘rideshare carez’.
