I had a request on TikTok to do a trig integral, so here you go! Plus if you’re in my Calc 2 class, this problem is on the practice exam. 😉 Did you notice right away how to get started?

Great content! Clear explanation, top tier calligraphy and way more organized with the board then I ever was when taking calculus hahahaha. I'm going to make a habit out of watching your videos and trying to solve the integrals - just don't make'em too difficult, ok? 😂

Professor V, thank you for a challenging Trigonometric Integral of the Day. Professor V, I did not attack this Integral the way you did, however I got a similar solution to what you computed. Professor V, I break the Integration of Tan raised to the fifth 4x dx into Tan raised to the fourth 4x times Tan4x dx and then I used the same Trig Identity you did to get a slightly different solution. Professor V, the solution that I got is Sec raised to the fourth 4x divided by 16 minus one divided by four times Tan squared 4x plus one divided by four times ln of the absolute value of Sec4x plus a Constant. Professor V, when I substitute 1 plus Tan squared 4x in place of Sec raised to the fourth 4x and do the basic algebra, I got your solution, which is one hundred percent correct. Professor V, I hope your students are doing well, especially the ones who are repeating Calculus Two. This is an error free video/lecture on YouTube TV with Math TV Professor V.
