If they made bear tooth cheaper and stepped it up to 5 watts I’d be all over it! It would also be nice if they made a model that would act as a bridge on your baofeng so voice could be used without using your phone.

It would be interesting to take a look at the PinPoint APRS software, a very cheap laptop, a cheap H/T, and TNC software ( or Kenwood's TH-D75 radio). This system is not as compact as the android system but might be a bit more secure and a lot less expensive. I'll definitely look into this, however. Thanks!

If you're thinking about using something like this in a Red Dawn sort of situation, but with the bad guys being on the blue team, just know that they can capture all your comes and all you will be doing is giving them your location for a drone strike.
