I have a question please. Is it recommended to do a partial shake replacement (perhaps 600 sf on a 1200 sf side of a house)? Specifically how is the mesh underlayment and roofing tarp paper aligned when trying to tie in existing shakes with new shakes over a large surface. Our concern being potential leaks where the new shakes abut with the existing shakes. Thanks! Helpful video.

Look at the valley lol, look at the overlap they left from last tile to the copper, water runs back up so that would leak…

At 10 inch exposure there is only 1 layer of felt at 20 percent of the whole roof when there should be no less than 2 layers of felt. Remember shake liner is only 18 inches wide. So then why are the rows 10 inches ? Makes no sense.
