Join Shake Guys of Lake Zurich as they install a cedar roofing system to perfection.

Things you might miss in this video:

- Our non corrosive nails are driven my nail guns to the perfect depth vs. hand hammering which can offer less consistent results (under or over driven). Staples are also used by some roofers but these are not ideal for the thickness and weight of high quality cedar.

- Our crews are trained professionals who specialize in cedar roofing rather than comp/asphalt.
- Our project managers are always on hand to make sure a project runs smoothly. They work with the foreman and the homeowner to bridge a divide, take accountability, and ensure a safe and clean environment.

I have a question please. Is it recommended to do a partial shake replacement (perhaps 600 sf on a 1200 sf side of a house)? Specifically how is the mesh underlayment and roofing tarp paper aligned when trying to tie in existing shakes with new shakes over a large surface. Our concern being potential leaks where the new shakes abut with the existing shakes. Thanks. Helpful video!

Nice work I hope your crew has updated their saw by now throw that roybi in the trash or give it to a home owner. We use a 6-1/2 Milwaukee 18v it’s light weight and enough juice for the cedar doesn’t need much to cut it
