Welcome to April's Tropical Greenhouse Roundup! In this video, we'll explore some of the changes due to April's arrival. April is the perfect time to take stock of the past season and make changes based on the last couple of month's growth.
We take a look at those plants that aren't doing so well and might need interventions; we discuss what those interventions might be; then we take a look at those plants that are looking more promising for the future, or are doing really well right now in April.

Hi Geoff, when you were talking about your Nobile orchid and that you gave it a winter rest. I wondered though how low the temp was where you have it. I believe they not only need the rest from feeding & watering but also a couple of weeks of lower temp. Also, does your plant lose leaves during the rest period? My plants live outside and I guess that my night temps must be low enough because I get consistent blooming every year. See if you can find out more about lowering temps and how it will promote blooming. Good luck with it next season anyway.

Have you tried Kelp powder. I bought a big bag on Amazon for 6.95$. a little goes a long way. Helps revive difficult orchids. I use it as a fair spray on my Basil too.

Good update Geoff! My 9 year old Den. primulinum (now polyanthum) once again failed to bloom for me this year. It's pushing out it's usual new cane but no flowers as usual. I'm going to make a sulfur puffer because I think thrips are messing with a few of my streps.

Spring is finally here in the N.E. U.S., daffodils and muscari are blooming. English wood hyacinths are coming up. I'll be mowing in another 2 weeks I think.

Hi Geoff, I was thinking of using Sulphur as mixed with water as a spray for my plants. Where did you get your Sulphur / what brand do you use? 🤔😊

Hi Geoff,
I have been given a large voucher for Hants fly trap. If there is one or two Nepenthes you desire, or could recommend. What would it be ?
