This is so weird... I would AT LEAST want the bathbomb itself to enjoy in a warm bath with a glass of wine. I would feel even MORE duped by this MLM if I didn't even get to enjoy the full scope of the product!

I'm thinking this would be a cute idea for a bridal shower...or a bridal bath. The bride chooses jewelry for the bridesmaids, someone makes the bath bombs (which is super easy to do), and gives them as a gift to the bridesmaids. They get the jewelry AND the luxurious bath bomb, and no one supports an MLM.

I thought the quality of the bath product was also part of the selling point, but apparently it never even reaches the end user? I'm so confused about their product model... Imagine going to Lush & having them dissolve your bath bomb before you leave the store. 🤔😆

Along with the dopamine inducing gambling structure, the parasocial nature of these “parties” are also an appeal to loneliness; the rep is talking to you, addressing you directly, sharing personal details about their life…it feels special and personal. It’s a really sad reflection of the isolation so many in our society feel.

Okay, I’m laughing so hard at the prices because I’ve worked at two jewelry stores, and NO ONE is selling cubic zirconia and gold plated rings for three digits, especially after it’s been in someone’s bath water. 😂

22:33 you hit the nail on the head. I'm exactly the same way. I want to KNOW what my money is buying. My mom always said everything actually has 3 prices.
-The literal price on the tag.
-The value of the item. Is it worth the price they're asking? Will it solve a problem, fix an issue, save me time, etc. What value is it going to perform in my life? Or does it just sit on a shelf and look pretty? (not a lot of "decor" in my house lol)
-And the cost. Different from the price... This is what is it costing ME? Is this 5 hours of minimum wage? Is this a nice dinner I can't have later in the week? Is this new boots I won't be able to afford come winter? Is it costing me space in my house I can't afford to give it? The money/time/space/energy this thing will take has to come from somewhere else. Am I ok with not having that money/time/space/energy later on? Because that's what spending NOW is going to cost me LATER.
Everything has 3 prices and you should do your best to be ok with all 3 of them before purchasing.

I have a bath bomb company. And bath bombs with surprise items are always a big seller. But it’s absolutely BONKERS that people buy these without actually being able to use them. Like that’s the whole damn point.

This is super reminiscent of the oyster pearl parties where they take a bunch of dead oysters, shove like 30 fake dyed pearls inside of them, and open them up on livestreams for people to buy

I was a bomb party rep for a year or so. I was on the bottom of my team I couldn't recruit people because there's so many reps. I spent more money on inventory than I ever made. The leader of my team was making six figures while the most I made in a month was $50. Those ranks start over every month. So say you reach peridot executive consultant in the month of January come Feb first you drop back down to the very bottom. To reach the first earning rank requires reps to buy at least buy $350 worth of product. So before you buy anything in February you are not at an earnings rank unless you have a large downline. They tell you to make sure you invest in product on the first to get back up to your rank. So for me to be at the lowest rank with no downline I had to buy $350 worth of product regardless if I have sold anything. So if I didn't make a sale in two months I've dropped $700 to buy product just to be ranked the topaz consultant.

"diamond cubic zirconia" is like how they will sell fabric labelled "poly-silk" hoping that nobody will check the actual fiber content which says 100% polyester (I worked at a chain fabric store for years and yes they do this and they just mean "silk-look polyester" not "silk blend" it drove me crazy)

You are absolutely right—I had reacted to the “game show” feel of the online parties, but your analogy of gambling is much better. The “you almost won; keep trying” and “never know what you’re gonna get” and even the cowbell ringing sound at each reveal is alarmingly reminiscent of a SLOT MACHINE. It would not surprise me if this were intentionally psychologically engineered to tap the same brain reward systems that are targeted by casino games, especially slots. Creepy.

I can't imagine spending for something gold-plated. My wedding band was custom and $600 for 14k white gold and white sapphire. These people need to learn about etsy!

What’s truly sad is that these ladies only make ~$1 - $2 per bomb / necklace / earrings / bracelet sold after netting out expenses. That’s why there isn’t an income disclosure!! 😔🤬

I’m going to set up an MLM based on the bomb party product. You buy a box of chocolates for a silly price, I open them on a livestream and eat the chocolates I like, then post you out the chocolates I don’t. Sound good? Lol 😂

I struggle A LOT with a shopping/gambling addiction, and let me tell you this video had me twitchin. Glad I saw this before coming across a Bomb Party live stream because I am their exact target audience.
