Filmed on June 29, 2024. Part 3 of my annual 4 part section paddle of the Mad River in Ohio. Picked up where I left off at Eagle City Road in Springfield and took out at Spangler Road just North of Dayton. Spent one night on the river and cooked three amazing meals right on the river bank.

I backpack and river camp with my kids with their Boy Scout troop and I’ve been slowly converting the scouts to using a spork and frisbee as their meal kit!

Wishbone with just another great one! The effort put in for meals is incredible! Definitely using the frisbee plate, great idea! This makes me wanna get out for another kayak camp before end of the year!!!

12:12 mark huge fish swimming past your boat on left side! Very nice.

After asking you some questions a couple months ago about going down the mad river, I ended up camping out right where you saw the snapping turtle by the railroad tracks

Nice trip, thanks Jason! We were advised not to run Buck Creek in the summer as there is shallow waters. We were also told that there is a a very large homeless encampment that could be an issue.

Appreciate your videos and insight.

We've had rain like that all summer. Look at a radar and forecast and you're sure you're about to get drenched for hours.

Ends up as a 10 minute light sprinkle.

I don't recall OH 41 having two bridges at the first overpass.

Fun installment, thank you Jason. : )

PS: do remember your Mexican Street Corn with your party.

20, 000 bulbs of garlic?!? Guaranteed to keep the vampires away.

Jason this looks like a beautiful paddle. I am in KY and this looks a lot like our Buck Creek where I am from. Anyways keep the videos up I always love watching them for inspiration on my channel.

Awesome video man . I am glad you didn't get rain on man . My last kayak 🛶 trip we get Heavy rain, Tornado 🌪 hit us, Heavy winds, & the weather man said that it was going to be very very Extremely hot 🥵 95° to 100° Degrees & sunny . He got that part right but not the Severe weather . We had no idea about the Severe storms because we had no cellphone Signal & i had my whole entire family kayaking 🛶 . My in law & friends was trying to call & text us to tell us about the weather & to get off the water . I really like your Crocs man . I find the same pair red & black at the beach in a sz17 & when I went back to get them like 3/4 hours later the store was closed & it was our last night there . I am still trying to find some crocs to wear man while kayaking 🛶 cuz i have to kayak 🛶 barefooted 👣 because of how extremely wide my feet 🦶 are . I would have to cut a Section out of the toes box area for my lil toes to hang out because of how my toes are Evenly straight across . My toes being Evenly straight across is mostly my Main problem because footwear is made for toes that are at a 45° Degrees angle & my toes are Evenly straight across . I am about to do a 30 to 40 miles kayak camping 🏕 trip with my whole entire family ( wife, 6 boys, daughter in law, Granddaughter, my lil brother, & his son ) with my wife co-worker family & with some family friends . I am really really looking forward to doing this trip man . Were is your buddy at man the ( Colonel ) . He is missing out man . Thanks you for sharing this video buddy. Looking forward to seeing PT 4.
