Too many 'boys' thinking with their small head and too afraid to mention the one glaring fact here - trainers, shorts, tee shirt and no gloves = recipe for disaster. Even wondered what human skin looks like if you rubbed it hard with sand paper? Of course not, because you'd immediately stop someone doing that to your skin, but coming off a bike, even at slow speed, then you'll be looking at long term skin grafting, maybe surgery to pin together ankles, shins, knees and any other bone you'd care to impact without protection.
I've seen guys lose a foot from wearing trainers, where they've put their foot down to try and save themselves from coming off. They still came off, along with most of the foot.
Yes, it's great to be young, physically fit, and healthy and be admired. But you are not made of steel and invincible. You can still look attractive and cool in the right protective gear, and if the boys complain or stop following, then they are shallow shits to begin with. You ride a bike that is probably around 400 lbs (181+ Kg) in weight, the last thing you need is that on top of you in a slide with only shorts and tee shirt.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I've seen too many good people lost - both friends and strangers (the latter I've seen as I work in Accident & Emergency), due to no fault of their own, after coming off their bikes without proper gear.

Please don't become a statistic for the sake of 'likes'. Think long term, not short term. The best of luck to you.
