background info on this song from Wikipediea

'The lyrics and melody are a variant of the song "The Braes of Balquhither" by Scottish poet Robert Tannahill (1774–1810) and Scottish composer Robert Archibald Smith (1780–1829), but were adapted by Belfast musician Francis McPeake (1885–1971) into "Wild Mountain Thyme" and first recorded by his family in the 1950s.'

What a beautiful song played on a beautiful instrument. What a mystical, wailing, woeful tone it gives off. Amazing.

Very nice! I do love to hear pipe music. I was a bagpiper at one point of my life. The last time I played them was in 1982 at my grandmother’s funeral. She, along with most all of my family in generations past were Scottish, Irish, and little bit of Norse, Welsh, and English. My grandmother was from Edinburgh, and she grew up about a block away from the Greyfriars Cemetery where Greyfriars Bobby, the little Cairn Terrier, had a statue of him, because he would come back every night to lay on his master’s grave. Grandma told me all about my heritage and I am proud of my pedigree.

Good tone! People don't realize what a juggling act it is between the bag and the bellows.

I found this song by Long John Baldry in the early 70s. For a long time I was convinced I was the only person who knew the tune. I'm thrilled to see it getting about more these days.

Beautiful. Always love the expressiveness and bending of notes on Uilleann pipes.

It’s nice to see someone play and not be in a hurry, to many pipers do not realize how speed affects the end results, truly well done just like Davy S.

I've never even heard of this instrument before! Similar to the bagpipes of course, but it's new to me. Beautiful song and very well done.

I've reached an age where I will listen to almost anything musically, and I have to say this is a very pleasant surprise, albeit a little short😊
