Before anyone throws hate, he's talking about the athletic carryover of lowbar compared to highbar.
He's not hating on powerlifting, he's just doing what a performance coach should do, educating us on which squat has the better carryover to sports like American Football.

Every set l do of high bar squats turns into a low bar squat as gravity kicks in and causes bar to slide downwards rep by rep. Best of both worlds.

For powerlifting low bar is the one but also practice high bar as it has all the benefits he said plus it’s better for building the quads

If you're talking entirely about sports performance, he's right on the money. If you're a powerlifter. Squat however helps you move the most weight efficiently

Ya might be a better carryover to some sports, but I switched to low bar years ago when I got a cambered bar and would never go back.

My hip structure is build for wide stance squating there find lowbar squat more effective for the stance that works better for me and my athletic performance.

Where I'm inclined to disagree is that low bar activates hip adductors more and I find that lots of hip adductors strength correlates to very strong knees follow through. I don't hate highbar and I will sometimes squat all the way down ass to grass usually in the form of a front squat or a clean but low bar absolutely strengthens my hips. So things like sprawling fighting out of single legs throwing high-kicks body kicks even stepping in the punches are stronger because of that hip activation in low bar squatting

I am not discrediting squat, but don't you think that deadlift and it's variations are even better for athletic activities? Particularly for vertical jump and any thing that involves maximum rapid force production without pre-stretch?

What about a combination of low bar for absolute strength and a more posterior chain focused squat, and front squat for full range of motion, explosiveness and an anterior chain focused squat?
So a squat with almost vertical shins and great hip hinge and on the other hand a squat with vertical torso minimal hip hinge and knees over toes, so we can cover the whole spectrum.
