We’re going through a rough patch right now, so no Christmas Eve dinner this year, but I will make this strata for brunch on Christmas Day. I think it will fulfill the same purpose at a fraction of the cost.

This is the first Family Stone strata I’ve scene on YouTube. I’ve never heard of this until the movie and thought wow… that is a perfect Christmas holiday breakfast if you celebrated Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. And so wonderful to see the final product as we didn’t get that reveal in the movie. That looks yummy.’

Nice, like a Savoury Bread Pudding that we have in the UK. I have a rival recipe for the stale bread I'd been saving for the Christmas Bread Sauce I was going to make in a few days time. The last bread pudding I made was a Stilton & leek one 🤤
There's also a German version called schwarzbrotpudding, made from pumpernickel. It's usually sweet, but a German friend makes a savoury version & its lovely.

My mom makes one of these pretty much every year for Thanksgiving/Christmas morning and has for as far back as I can remember. Though she doesn't use the olives and tomatoes, she typically does sausage or ham with mushrooms and onion.
