I have an L4-5 fusion, and now have to be very careful due to less flexion of those two vertebrae. It makes the surrounding ligaments more vulnerable, especially the iliolumbar ligament, which I recently tore bending just a little too far.

Why don't them make them cushiony so that it works like regular disc. If it's a metal, rigid cage won't that put pressure on discs above and below? Though fusion implies fixed. by not partially fused but able to absorb shocks at that level.

Jeżeli komuś pęknie całkowicie pierścień włóknisty to taki patent wymaga takiej czy innej operacji. Nie piszcie głupot że nie zgodzili byście się na operację wtedy. Ból wtedy jest tak ogromny wręcz piekielny. Wtedy jest sparaliżowana noga, albo i dwie, człowiek nawet pieluchy może potrzebować. A nie zrobienie operacji grozi inwalidztwem i wiecznym bólem.

Ok, your spine works with every cushion, remove on cushion, it effects the entire spine. After this, you will have more back problems.

If a CT specialist with newer experience in MIS, lumbar laminectomy/fusion, ultrasound instruments, computer mapping etc. If aware of facility/provider, I'd contact, as L 3-4 laminectomy soon, possibly more as significant Prednisone use at 10-14+ yo. necessary to consider and manifesting quickly at 70.

I was told I need a spinal fusion. At L3-4 L4-5 and L5-S1. That would be a three tier fusion. Would love any information you may have that can help my research on this type of surgery.

I suffered a burst fracture, so had surgery to prevent pieces from getting into the spinal cord (my understanding). Stenosis was cleaned out. There was some using scrapings for repair, titanium hardware went in and fusion was done. That was 5 months ago. Now I am starting to have pain on the other side that comes sometimes with bending wrong, or sometimes sitting down. It is breathtaking in its sharpness. I have to wait for it to subside in order to move. It always does subside. It is not constant. What might be going on? What questions should I ask at my next appointment and what questions should I be prepared to answer. The fusion is at the L4-5 level.

I had 2 surgeries and both were great. I was liturally dancing out the door after the firsr one.
It depends on the surgery, the surgeon, the problem, the age of the patient and their physical condition and if they donthe work in recovery on their end.
That said i wont have a fusion...

😮 I am the first global fusion.. They made new Spine bones out of my hip I have a triangle plate in the front 2 plates in the back 7 bolts... After 30 years can I have them removed..😊
