You know how to tell the difference between an alligator and a crocodile?

Just wave at it,

if it says “see you later” then it’s an alligator.

Not true. Crocodilians (which means Crocodiles, Caimans, Alligators and Gharials) just have a less severe and slower but still noticeable aging process. Old crocs for example stop growing back their teeth. We don't know yet how old these animals can get since there's no reliable scientific data on it, but estimates range between 40-200 years depending on the species.
