🩷 More doll flat iron tips I didn’t include / couldn’t fit into the short:

- if you have never used a flat iron on doll hair, don’t use your favorite doll! Practice first

- your flat iron settings may be different than mine! I always use the lowest heat and turn it off

- you can also spray the hair with a small amount of water to prevent burning

- don’t leave the flat iron in one spot for too long! run it through quickly

- there are different types of doll hair and some can burn more easily

- anytime you use heat tools on doll hair you are risking ruining the doll

I hope it is helpful! 😊

For certain dolls, boiling hot water is the best method to fix and straighten their hair as it relaxes the fibers

Dang, I wish I knew this about 10 years ago when I ruined my dolls hair 😭😭

Dolls' hair is synthetic, so if a flat iron is at full heat, of course, their hair is going to melt. Your doll looks beautiful no matter what type of hair which she has.

Guys it also depends on the fiber! If the hair is coarse and rough in texture it's most likely polypropylene and will melt no matter what! It hates heat! Make sure it's Saran!

It’s pretty safe on most newer nylon hair on low heat, it’s best to use one with temperature settings 😁👍🏽, great tips I’ve never thought about turning it off that will work great without settlings

Years ago I bought a crimping iron that could also straighten and flock. My hair is stubborn and it didn’t get hot enough for me. Then I found out it worked great for styling Barbie’s hair. It’s never burned any hair even while left on. I’m not sure if there’s any like this one anymore. It’s called Conair shiny style and came from either Wal-greens or rite aid. I haven’t used it in awhile, but when I did it was to fix dolls hair when in pony tails to long.

This is why I'm gonna use my own hair for re-rooting. I cut a bunch off so might as well.

I've always said this, thank you!! So many doll collectors complained of it and I always added that it needs to be off, it will have enough heat to straighten at least half of the hair if you work quickly (sections created and combed thoroughly).

I put my flat iron on the lowest setting while straightening doll hair. To prevent the doll's hair from melting, I always spray the hair with water before straightening. I did this on my Barbie Looks #11 and Pet Photographer.

I always use the lowest heat and wet the hair first, and I never let it sit on any spot, I do like your idea of turning the heat off then iron.

I use an old flat iron on my dolls hair, i set it at 10 degrees, works on most dolls, but always best to test a small patch on the back :)

I usually use the lowest or second to lowest setting on my flat iron I use on my hair and use it on my dolls. For me it works very well.
