Crane sections don't fall apart unless connection-bolts are removed. Look at the crane sections on the ground - sheared fasteners or not? Looks like contractor error from here...

Contractors typically dismantle cranes on Saturday to minimize the number of employees onsite (in addition to the traffic concern). A project this size can easily have upwards of 800 people working on a weekday. If done on a weekday, they might choose to send home non-essesntial workers....costing time and money.
