- Why do we call God The Father?
- Because He says so in the Bible.

The end.

Jesus calls the Father "Father, " end of issue.

The Lord’s Prayer starts out, “Our Father...” so Jesus himself identifies God as “Father” so that should be the end of the discussion.

God refers to Himself as He many times

Christ was created in the masculine, and the first human form created in HIS image was created in the masculine.

Why is nature called "mother nature"? I'm a man and I'm offended. LOL

Because God has chosen to reveal Himself as such. Why? We don’t know

It was a difficult question. We know that is what the Bible teaches but sometimes you just have to ask the question why. Not because you want to push a certain agenda but you just want to understand. For many Christians, it is easy to accept what God has written in the Scriptures. We take it as God says it but for others further explanation is needed. I am pretty we encounter difficult questions from time to time about our beliefs and it is ok because it makes us better and help us to become more confident in what we stand for. The question is quite intriguing and I don't think it was easy to answer nor was it foolish to ask the question and I don't think it's easy to stand in front of a crowd and answer all these questions satisfactorily. He did not have the time to sit down and think what answer to give to the lady. It was a Q&A session but I think he did a great job.

"Why is that an issue?" My thoughts exactly.

The father leads the family. Male leads, female follows. Jesus is the husband of his bride the church.

Kudos to the young lady for using her courage to ask the question. Great question! And God is ALL, both masculine and feminine. We were created in their image. So, to me, it would make sense to refer to God as either pronoun.

You know we have to give credit to this young lady. At least at the end she said "thatll work" .. She sees the point. And like he said. Why would this be a problem... The thing is that she stood up for a question. Well done for both paties ! 😊

There are much better ways to answer this question. She sounded naturally curious, not accusing at all. I’m not a feminist, I’ve studied theology, and I worked in churches for 10 years... and I’ve asked the same question. You shouldn’t answer a question with, “Is that a problem for you?” It doesn’t help anyone who is trying to learn the nature of God. Even if they’re a jerk about it (which she was not) if someone is asking about nature of God, it’s a great opportunity that shouldn’t be shot down defensively.

God is depicted as male because a, Jesus was male; and b, men were given the specific task of authority since the Garden of Eden. (When Eve took the for forbidden fruit, Adam was held responsible.) God is to be seen as the ultimate authority, and when men look to God, they should see Him as the representation of GOOD male authority they should emulate as opposed to oppressive male authority. Men are to be prepared to lead people, provide, and even die for people, as Jesus has led, provided, and died for others.

Women represent the majesty and mystery of God’s creations, and the power they hold to further God’s kingdom. (Men provide, women multiply.) They represent the nurturing, beautiful, comforting elements of God; but they also mysterious, incredible power of His church.

But we don’t call God “mother” because men need a proper male authoritative role to emulate and respect. It’s not meant to be an insult to women, but more of a standard for men to respect, honor, and emulate.

There are actually cults that call God “mother”, and it’s warped their authority figures in unBiblical ways. To call God “mother” disrupts the hierarchy of authority, and therefore, creates chaos and distortion of responsibilities.

That’s how you answer that question.

I'm actually a bit sad to see all these comments going all "SJW/Feminist! UGGGGHHHH, " or making very personal and unwarranted attacks. She is asking a genuine question (a relevant one too), and her manner is respectful and inquiring. Many Christians come to these videos to find respectful and intelligent ways to answer these kinds of questions, and I wish the comments below would reflect the level that Frank models so non-Christians could come to this channel and feel free to ask or assert things without getting attacked.

Seriously. Before posting or responding, ask yourself if your comment would be helpful to someone struggling/questioning something to lead them to know the true nature of God through your compassion or if you're trying to just put people down to raise yourself up.

How about a natural answer: men are XY, and there for represent both genders (man and woman). It is the seed of a man that determines whether the new formed child is a girl or a boy. The Creator from the start made us equals; and through Jesus, He restored. There are just different functions; with Jesus being the perfect example for men to follow. Eph 5 : 25.

Come on Turek this has to be theology 101. It is because God has arranged relationships in a specific way. As God is the Head of the Trinity and Jesus is Head of the Church and man the head of the household. Is it not that simple
