Bassi varri- Sacred Mountain (2020-2021)
Eana- Land (2016)

Through both Sacred Mountain and Eana, Hilde Skancke Pedersen calls for a change in the way elements of nature are rendered dispensable under a capitalist lens. She urges us to see them less as natural resources that fuel the economy, and more as entities of fundamental importance to our souls. While Pedersen’s works have a muted quality, operating through gentleness, softness and silence, they also simmer with an underlying, persistent rage. They remind us of how intimately intertwined Indigenous people are with the land, and how it’s impossible to separate Indigenous activism from ecological activism.
