Rheem ProTerra 65 Gal. 10-Year Hybrid High Efficiency Smart Tank Electric Water Heater

Hybrid electric heap pump water heaters can save hundreds in annual power cost. This tank is equipped with an auto shutoff valve. This unit is located in Olathe, KS and there is no check valve in the water meter or backflow device. The water pressure was 70 psi and there was no PRV present. An open loop system does not require a thermal expansion tank, there would not be any benefit.

There are a few unique details about installing a heat pump water heater compared to a normal tank. There is a 3/4" condensation line that was ran in PVC. The water connections are located on the side of the tank instead of the top.
