Its the owner's fault for having a pet chimpanzee because while travis may have acted more closer to a human than a chimpanzee he was still a wild animal and chimps tend to be violent animals

I dont know why anyone would keep a chimpanzee as a PET. It was begging for something like this to happen. And even after all those stories, nobody could even pay me to keep a primate of any kind.

Speaking of attacking Travis ripped her face off her nose, eyeballs, lips, hands, and most of her scalp was ripped off. And Travis was eating her. Luckily she survived❤️

To me, it sounds as if Travis was beginning to think that he was the alpha male ever since the husband died and his home as well as some of the neighboring land became his territory and that ultimately led him to decide that Sandra was the only person allowed on his land while Charla was no longer welcome. I feel that he did what he did to show dominion and to strike fear into invaders as alpha males are wont to do.

I still don’t get how people can not understand, that even when trying to domesticate a wild animal, no matter how trusting/bonding they are, they can change their mind at any point.

A man adopted a chimp when he was a baby. The chimp grew up w him and the thing is when they grow up they become twice the size of a man.
So he dropped him off at an animal shelter. He always visited the chimp each year and then he brought him a birthday cake. The chimp got very excited and then all the other chimps got upset and furious because he didn’t get them a cake. So the chimps escaped and then tore him limb by limb. And ripped him apart...
He died 11 years later.

They havent been domesticated for centuries like cats and dogs. Chimps are wild animals and should be treated with caution even if they seem friendly

I noticed that a lot of people thought that when Travis was smiling he was doing it to be cute, spoiler alert; he wasn’t. Chimps smile as a threat or a warning, they’re not human so they don’t behave like us nor have the same emotional/social reactions or norms with us. Travis was a danger from day 1, not because he was violent but because he was a 200 pound animal with amazing strength and intelligence who was also probably sexually frustrated. He was also being medicated with unprescribed human medicine. He was also never (I don’t know if that’s true but I’m assuming) given the opportunity to socialize with his own species and mate any females to relive sexual frustrations, all in all, Travis did not deserve to die, he shouldn’t have EVER been a ‘pet’, medicated to hell and isolated from his own kind. PLUS the woman who owned him let him consume alcohol 🤦

I heard that Travis was drinking water out of wine bottles that weren’t clean so maybe some wine was left in it
