Yes the cave dungeons seen in Pikmin 2 seem to be back. I hope Olimar and Louie make an appearance.

So in short: we have the cave and treasure hunt from the 2nd game
The single Onion that can fuse other Onions
Ice Type Pikmin that can freeze enemies similar to a stone Berry spray from the 2nd game and freeze water hazards
A dog type alien that has the similar treasure hunting traits to dig up stuff like the white Pikmin
4 new Captains who might be from Hocotate (Olimar might make an appearance like from the Holo-Diary files from the 3rd game)

I'm starting to question the whole "Pikmin takes place long after human extinction" bit. The environment and that house in the background looks too well kept to not be taken care of by humans.

I really wanted to play as Olimar again, I didn’t get to play P3 but idk about the lore but these goofy characters makes me miss the OGs more and as I enjoyed a hardcore P2 mod on PC I really hope this game isn’t super easy cause it’s for children. I want for them to add legendary mode and I’ll be happy

This game is 2 and 3 together so huge hype but the captain's look like they need a lot of improvement so Nintendo please change the characters appearance cause these ones look lackluster

The graphics have me skeptical, the dog makes me uncomfortable, but the caves being back, the new captains and the ice Pikmin ability has me hoping and hoping this will be the best Pikmin ever made
