I from Pittsburgh, but I go to college in upstate NY. I’m a senior now, and I think at least once every year I’ve watched this video when I got homesick. Hearing the Pittsburghese always gives me a little taste of home and makes me feel a lot better! Thank you Pittsburgh Dad!

As an ex-member of the Giant Eagle deli department, I can confirm: non-chipped ham ruins people’s week.

Chipped ham!  Everywhere I've ever lived I've always asked for "Chipped Ham."  Once a woman in North Carolina instantly said, "You must be from Western PA."

Covering the text books with brown paper bags. Some serious nostalgia. You guys are the best...

You just brought a tear to my forgot all about dippy what my Dad always called them.  Born in Pittsburgh 1915 and lived there his entire life to the ripe age of 93.  Thanks Pittsburgh Dad.

For all those wondering, this was filmed at the Shaler (Rt. 8) Giant Eagle on October 30th.
My sister was working the bakery that night and met him. This episode was great. I have found myself saying a lot of this. :)

growing up in pittsburgh, i've never realized how many things people here (including me) are always saying that seem so weird to everyone else.

Born in Pittsburgh, now living in Hungary. Desperately trying to find someone else in Hungary from Pittsburg to share these with. So funny. And prolific! Well done.

I have family and friends that live in the ‘Burgh. These never cease to make me smile! From you’s to yinz’s, to wise potato chips and iron city beer, from Giant Iggle to chipped chopped ham n’nat, I love the Burgh!

Always have loved hard shell outside, squishy mushy sugary insides. Plus I Love the Steelers and Mr. Rodgers !!! First time wife and I went to Pittsburgh from WV, we came out of a tunnel and saw that magnificent skyline, both our jaws dropped!!!

1:12 I have a chemistry degree (from Pitt, H2P) and Pittsburgh Dad literally perfectly defined what "organic, " "organometallic, " and "inorganic" actually mean lol

Spot on. Brings back so many childhood memories of getting dragged to Giant Eagle every Friday morning - the cookie card and free slice of cheese almost made it worth it.
