Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Today’s video is all about a certain quest in Skellige, The Lord of Undvik — this is the quest where Geralt is sent to Undvik by Crach an Craite to help his son, Hjalmar. Honestly, I may have gone too far with this one - I don’t even want to talk about how many times I had to replay this quest… and the Cerys’ quest that goes with it… and a couple of the quests after it… you know what, let’s just not talk about it.

During my first run of the game. I was wandering around hunting / clearing secret locations to level up when suddenly the cutscene where the ice giant was feeding the harpies near the shipwreck started. I remember spending almost 2 hours trying to finish this quest with no markers or any details. met Hjalmar the first time ever when he was busy fighting this wyvern thingy. and the dialogue between the two made me pause the game and search online to find out that I'm in the middle of a mission that's started by accident.

Another thing english speakers might not have realized is that "undvik" literally means "avoid" in swedish. It made me really wanna go there the first time I heard it lol. The pronunciation Geralt is using sound closer to swedish so that's the right one in my book. I always liked how Skellige seemed a bit like vikings had taken over England and together their culture and language sort of mixed and became a hybrid of the two. Not quite Anglo - Saxon and not quite viking either.

Dude I literally did this. It;s my first time playing withcer 3 and I just decided to explore Skellige at level 19, and directly found Hjalmar fighting the Sirens like 2 days ago. It did feel like I was doing something out of order but I couldn't help but appreciate the fact that the developers thought of this possibility and still made it fun for me as a player stumbling onto the "quest". So cool that you decided to cover this specific quest

Also, one thing I found: If you don't visit herbalist in White Orchard, and find lure yourself. And if you come after slaying the griffin, you can still ask about what happened to that girl herbalist was trying to heal, even trough you never saw or heard about her

I didn't know that this was the first side quest designed for the game, that's really cool! And it really does explain why it's so different compared to the rest. Thanks for putting in all the hours to show us every side of it you could, it's so cool to see how many variations the designers created!! I always wondered what happened to the boat guy, good to know he didn't just disappear only for me lol

This might be a basic question, but what about the mini- quest that the jarl of undvik gives you? The one where you need to collect twine & nails? I don't think I've ever actually found all the required material. Does it actually do anything?

This mission is definitely the most complex. Only on my third playthrough I was able to save all of them for Kaer Morhan. Very well explained. Keep up the good work.
