About me:
I am a practising artist, a secondary school art teacher with 20 years of experience and an IB assistant examiner since 2007. I have supervised Visual Arts Extended Essays since 2005 and spent a year as a Higher Ed Careers Adviser to get an even broader view.

What's up with this channel?
I am going to share with you my tips on how to successfully navigate this very exciting, awesome and sometimes confusing and chaotic art journey of self-discovery. I'll start with who the IB Visual Arts course is for, how to prepare for it, the difference between HL and SL levels etc... We will then deepen our focus on answering the assessment criteria and I will give you insights into what I find works and doesn't work, based on my overview of student work globally as an examiner.

I am passionate about art and I love the idea of contributing (in my small way) to the future generation of artists - that's YOU!

Thanks so much for this video Ms A! I really needed to visualise this to visualise the year beyond just the final exams like the process portfolio or CS. Would you have any advice for how to implement this timetable for an Australian schoolyear? Jan-Apr May-June July-September October-December ?

and in your opinion, given the ib art course has the three pillars of medium types, how important is drawing for an IB art student? i am starting ib art after doing 2 years of photography and my skills are more based in technological art.
