I will not give any detailed spoilers. It suffices my saying that this film has for both equally victimized and exploited protagonists (man & boy) a happy and dignified ending that is also according to French Law and, although rare in real life, credible. I do recommend your watching this film on its entirety. It is worthy of one's effort and time spent doing it.

I was once propositioned by a sweet, young boy in Bangkok. I asked him, in Thai, how old he was. He said '14'. I didn't know how to say 'young' in Thai so I gestured that he was small (he was actually rather tall for a 14-year-old). He jumped up-- to look taller. It was very cute, but there was no way I was having sex with a 14-year-old.

It's obviously a set up. The man did not know the boy. After a minute or so the boy lets in to compatriots who are obviously going to shake the man down. they will probably threaten him and tell that they will claim he tried to seduce the boy unless he pays them money. I saw this happen in Naples, Italy when I was there with the Navy in the 70's. Classic shake down. A sorry way to make a living. I DID NOT like this film and think it should be taken down. Too dark, to ugly, to hate filled. I would recommend no one watch it.
