The North Korean nuclear crisis and the US–Republic of Korea (ROK) military alliance dominate international coverage of the Korean Peninsula, but what about South Korea itself? South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s administration has reportedly clamped down on media outlets, restricted freedom of speech, and encouraged partisanship in the judiciary and civil service.
Is the ROK government on a path to limit freedoms in the South? Or is this all just politics as usual in a democracy with different rules from our own? Please join AEI for a discussion on the domestic politics of South Korea and their implications for the ROK, the US, and North Korea.

[Moon Jae-in's October Revolution, Again 1917]

I think Moon Jae-in studied the law is related to that former Soviet Vladimir Lenin majored in law after his brother's execution in 1887. We know how the history of Russia ended in tragedy since Lenin chose law instead of science. That history is going to be repeated.

The Bolsheviks never talked about those words - 'dictatorship', 'terror', 'fear', 'oppression', and 'communism' until they took power. They always veiled these words till the end in the name of 'Peace' to make Bolshevism look attractive. The Moon Jae-in regime is doing the same.

Freedom of Speech/Press repression is a serious problem now. It's like Noth Korean "Chosun Central TV" - One Sided Voices.
They are even also suing a large amount of civil lawsuits to eliminate the right voices of young and poor people on the youtube free speech. I see this process of revolution for 10 to 15 years. Very slowly, this country is becoming communist at a rate that people can not feel.

I think there is no progressive layers in Korea. South Korea is only divided into good Korean people and a few elite communists.
I’d like to call this Moon Jae-in's October Revolution. Please do not let history repeat again. And the world should never be ignored in the expansion of capital by Kim Jong-un and China Xi Jinping. We know everything is connected organically.

(New added) As a South Korean citizen I can't agree with Mr.Joonho Cheon. I don't agree his words "(you are )misunderstanding".
Don't trust his word 'Peace'. How hypocritical they are. I didn't expected a servant of the moon regime show up during the conversation.

- a humble voice from South Korea.

언론선동 언론탄압으로 고통받는 대한민국은 전쟁중입니다. 대한민국은 미국의 동맹이며 앞으로도 그럴것입니다.

We world citizens must understand Korean problems with respect to political and cultutal gap between the Western world and Korea. In South Korea, the great principle of liberal democracy(open society) is nothing without history(tradition). Therefore, the U.S.A. has to join and work with Korean conservative groups to fight against anti-American force and North Korea.

Although I did not ask for my help, my Japanese friends voluntarily pointed out the problem of the Korean leftist government. (Thank you very much. so very much)
The government of Moon Jae-in leftist government dismissed it as intervention in domestic affairs.
Moon government used the bad impression of Japan to talk to the people of Korea, and the invitation successfully confirmed the image as a bad group that interferes with Japan.
But I know that the Moon Jae-in government can not do it for American friends.
So I need the help of my American friends.

I have a question.
South Korea condemns Japan. Do you maintain trade and economic relations with such countries? Do you want to break the relationship? In the event of a war on the Korean Peninsula, the US Army can not fight without Japanese sacrifice and cooperation, but is Japan irrelevant to South Korea's security? Do you want Japan to declare full neutrality and prohibit the use of Japanese bases?
