He forgot the Haggis warmer? 2" heat packs down the shorts! Ha! hA! That layering system is ok if you are a stick insect, But for the normal people out there we prefer saggy baggy! Because from inuit times over 1000 years ago a oversize coat pushes out all the excessive heat in your coat when climbing up hill in deep snow with a heavy pack on, while still keeping you warm in -20. That system he has is making me itchy just looking at it.

I'll have you know that I start with a substantial layer of body fat... So stick that in yer pipe.

I think four layers is quite a lot. Three layers do it as well for me until ca. -15°C: functional long sleeve shirt, a synthetic/fleece like Zeemon had in the video plus a warm winter jacket. For the legs long underwear plus good winter trousers do it as well, so only two layers 🙂 Best, Alex

the waterproof layer goes under the warm layer?

softshell pants under hard Shell pants? i believed wear hard Shell pants only with base layer or mid layer ( primaloft, polartec...) under it, not with softshell pants too. with softshell pants and harshell,  how good  is the breathbility? thank very much in advance.

Primaloft as mid layer ?. Not breathable enough.

Gore tex is bollocks. Open a zip and save hundreds.
