PHP is experiencing a renaissance; old methodologies are everywhere under assault from advances in tooling and design. From Composer to HackLang, "the PHP way" of solving problems is dramatically evolving. Walls between projects are falling; interoperability and collaboration are happening on levels never thought possible. What do these accelerating changes mean for the future of the language? What might PHP8 look like? How will our communities continue to collaborate and evolve? And most pressing: what steps can we take to ensure PHP's continuing vibrancy in the face of future technical challenges?

I am proud of PHP as a programming language, this is my first language and the only language I am comfortable with for 100%. I am working as web developer for more than 6 years and PHP has been the main language and inspirational tool for my endless ideas through all these years. I would like to thank all those people who has and is working on it's development, all the community. You make people's lives easier, not only for developers, but for other people as well who uses software written in PHP as their daily routine solver. I suggest to all people, who is interested in programming and has not yet made his or her idea which language to start with, start with PHP, it will become your friend and brother of arm, and you are going to realize soon than there are endless possibilities waiting for you just right at the corner.

I love PHP and I have been working mainly with it for the past 4 years. Having said that, I hope Golang takes over the web because it's just better in every way.

PHP is a wonderful language; perhaps one of my favorites.

- imperative
- functional
- declarative
- object-oriented
- procedural
- logical
- symbolic

I can easily see how PHP can be used imperatively, functionally, declaratively, OO, and procedural, but I cannot easily see how logical or symbolic paradigms can be used. I guess if a logic framework is created in PHP it is feasible, but it is definitely not trivial. Also symbolic would be quite difficult because many common symbols are reserved by the language.

I do understand that PHP accommodates for many different styles; I am quite certain though that JavaScript can be used for any style that PHP can be used for.

Not sure if anyone can clarify the statement that "PHP is the only language that embraces every way of writing code, " but if you can I would be very appreciative.

I hope that anyone that reads this message has an absolutely wonderful day full of joy, learning, growth and happiness :)
